Weekends are bad for online life. Normal people would be devoting time to the family and household concerns and most people don't see the point of wasting time online surfing or blogging when they are at home. These are office activities to while away time. Who needs real work when the internet is just a mouse click away?
The quietness is especially acute during long weekends like this one. Only people who make a livelihood online will be online to make sure that everything is where they should be! Those who are employed 9 - 5 will stay as far away from the computer as possible.
After two years as an etrader, I have come to expect this. If there is a real sale during quiet times, I would be most surprise. From experience, those actually stay online to bid or place orders are actually people who are bored out of their skull and just do so for fun.
While life online is quiet, there is not much to worry about. It will pick up once offices open again!
