Are you are registered voter? Have you checked your status? I know of a few people who have registered themselves as voters, were given a receipt and yet when they do a check, they found that they are not listed in the register. Why?
Whatever it is, just do a double check right now. This afternoon, I received an SMS text from Celcom urging us to be responsible citizens by voting for our favourite candidate in the 2008 12th General Election.
To check your status by SMS if you are a Celcom subscriber, just type: SRPYour MyKad number. Send this SMS to 29777
It is this easy. Here's an example: SRP 1970112115
Celcom did not mention the cost of sending an SMS or receiving one but I expect it to be 15 - 30 sen each. Of course, you can also check it online here http://daftarj.spr.gov.my/daftarbi.asp, which is FREE!
