Just three days after announcing that PayPal India will stop its electronic withdrawal service for account holders in India, PayPal posted a reverse decision on its official blog that the electronic withdrawal service will continue as usual. In addition, the US$5 refund on cheque request will still be valid until further notice.
I guess, besides the fact that India is a large market for PayPal and they would like to please the customers who have been agitated by the news, PayPal must have resolved issues with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) or perhaps requested for everything to go as normal whilst they work out the legal kinks in the background without inconveniencing their users.
Whatever it is, this is great news for users in India but I think that with the many troubles they have been facing since January this year, they really should look for an alternative way to accept payment from overseas.
