From 14th December, 2006 onwards, only eBay Sellers who are PayPal verified and have the PayPal account linked to his/her eBay account will be allowed to sell at international eBay sites apart from the one he/she is registered with.
This has got to be eBay’s highest level of verification imposed on Sellers as a measure to protect Buyers.
However, Sellers who are exempted from this verification are those with at least 25 total feedback, out of which 98% are positive, have listed and sold at least one item on another site in the last 90 days as of December 1st, 2006.
Looking at the fraud statistics, I guess this verification process is just as well implemented sooner than later. This will of course affect most eBayers who are registered with eBay Malaysia, Singapore and the Philippines.
A verification process like this will improve Buyer - Seller confidence as a verified status proves that he/she has successfully passed PayPal's stringent identification checks.
