Lelong Proactive in Fraud Prevention

Did you know that Lelong.com.my has the right to remove your listings and/or suspend your trading account if you are selling high priced items and if you cannot be reached at your home telephone number?

Your account will then be downgraded to "Non-IC Verified" temporarily and you'll have to resubmit a copy of your MyKad and other supporting documents like telephone bill and go through the whole verification process again. You will not have to pay them this time, though.

Lelong has found out that some people with bad intentions will remove their fixed line number from their member's profile. Or purposely enter an invalid number. That's abuse of system.

It's commendable of Lelong to go to such trouble to prevent fraud. It is not an easy task to handle so many members from all corners of the country.

I figure with the compulsory registration of prepaid lines latest by 15th December, 2006, there will not be that many people misusing their prepaid lines to set up scams. This will be good for the community.
