My neighbor just bought their daughter a new computer after she became the top student in her school. This is the first computer in the household and everyone was excited about it. They even asked us over to have an "inspection".
As I have been using the internet for almost ten years now, I was a little concerned about the girl. She is only ten years old and I am quite sure that the family doesn't know about cyber predators.
So, I bought her PC Magazine's award winning Spector Pro monitoring software to monitor her MySpace activities, including myspace login, private messages, profile views, and who comes into contact with her within MySpace. Granted, MySpace is a community portal aimed at teenagers, but practically anyone who registers himself will have access to all these profile information.
Being a young girl, she doesn't really know what should be in her profile, and what should be kept private and confidential. I hope that Spector Pro will lessen her risk of coming into contact with undesirable people.
