Recently, a male friend who is about to be engaged to his long time girlfriend wanted to know if a diamond ring is that important to a girl. I don't know his girlfriend that well, but generally, which girl doesn't like a diamond ring to show off once in awhile, right?
He asked me what type of diamond engagement rings he should select from. I may not be an expert in diamonds, but I know enough to tell him to look out for the 5Cs; namely, Cost, Carat, Color, Clarity and Cut.
Since this is supposed to be for his engagement ring, I suggested him to get a heart shaped diamond. It symbolises a lot of things and could mean everlasting love and that he has given his heart to her.
I feel that it could be a single most meaningful diamond that he could give her. Forget about roses, forget about chocolates. Those never last and memories will fade.
Is a diamond forever? Yes I think it is. Love may come and go, but a diamond will always be true to us. The bigger, the better.
