A couple of days ago, I received an email enquiry from a Malay lady who wanted to know how to go about making a purchase from me. While she is definitely not the first Malay to buy from me, she was definitely the first to write exclusively in Malay, the SMS type, ya know?
Phew... I had to sweat out my replies to her.
I have not used Malay for years, have not listened to Malay or read Malay. I think I stopped using Malay altogether as soon as I left school.
Actually, I have realised a long time ago that our keyboard isn't really made for typing Malay. The keys are all over and not as smooth or conveniently placed as they are for English.
Anyway, I managed to explain to her what she wanted to know and we closed the deal smoothly.
My Malay still can pakai lol
