Combining Efforts In Online Sales & Marketing

I had mentioned that running an independent online store is not as simple as it looks. Today, I found out that there is another way to sell products online, especially if you are an artist.

Artisans Market is a site that creative people can subscribe to at a low monthly cost, and sell their creative works via the site.
Online consignment shops are brought together and for each sale, the artist will receive 80% of total gross sales.

I think this is a great deal because by selling through a site like Artisans Market, the artist can concentrate on creating art pieces and leave the sales and marketing aspect to others. Once an order is received, the artist ships out the item directly to the buyer. And that's it.

All administrative work will fall on Artisans Market too. So the artist need not worry about anything else but produce the best creative work. Marketing a website like Artisans Market is definitely more effective that marketing for an independent online store and all these will mean better sales and more revenue for the artist. Make sense to come together with other artists, doesn't it?
