A Wire Man, the excerpt of the book I read, is very compelling, very human. I could feel that this story, narrated in the first person was written as if every reader IS the protagonist. I could easily put myself into his shoes and definitely understand exactly how he feels about his father and the deteriorated condition of father and son ties.
The style in writing used by the author is very vibrant and forces me, the reader, to vividly imagine the settings in the workshop, the atmosphere and even how the interesting characters like his father and the peculiar Emmanuel look like.
This story is full of soul and the characters are explored thoroughly and every facet of them is presented raw in the story. I could easily relate to the story and it feels like bits of me make up part of the story.
If you have been searching for stories that explore the human mind, heart and desires, Hunger and Other Stories is your answer.
