While filing for an NPB is some action a Seller can take against a Buyer who is not closing the deal after winning the auction, I feel that the requirement to wait for seven days before being eligible to file, and then wait for another seven days to close the file, is quite a long time for a Seller to wait.
Whilst the Seller, after filing a NPB, has to wait for the Buyer to respond, Seller has to hold on to the item and not being able to offer it to another person or to relist it. Imagine if it is a high priced item, what would the holding cost and interest be like?
From experience, I know that a three-day period is more than sufficient for Buyer to contact Seller. If after three days Buyer has remained silent, he is highly unlikely to close the transaction. An interested Buyer would even contact Seller before the Seller is quick enough to issue an invoice.
Therefore, I feel that eBay should shorten the time for Sellers who wish to file for NPB.
