As an eSeller, I think it is imperative to push ourselves forward. The internet is ever changing and internet users are all very web savvy so we have to be one step ahead of the buying population to bring them the latest products and at a competitive price too.
One disadvantage about selling online is that your buyer has most probably browsed a hundred and one online stores that are selling a similar item before making a buy decision.
Therefore, the Seller with an edge over its competitor will most probably clinch this sale.
In this sense, I think business is more challenging for eSellers than for traditional brick and mortar retailers since in traditional business, your competitors are confined to businesses in the same building or the same city, but on the internet, every online store that sells similar items is a competitor no matter which country it is from.
