Slaving For Money

A friend recently told me that it is not that important how much money one earns, but how one earns it and if the person has the time to enjoy the fruits of his labour. Do you work for money or does your money work for you? Unfortunately, I am one of the many people who have to work hard for money.

I actually do know a handful of friends who are lucky enough to live a comfortable like without being conventionally employed. They seemingly do not have work and can just about go anywhere they like during the day when most people are stuck at the office desk.

And I have friends who are rich enough that if their career fell apart right here and now, they could still lead a life with their current lifestyle for a few years without worrying where their next meal will be from.

These are the people who have money tied up in smart investments and they let their money work for them so that even if they do not work, their principal is able to generate enough income for them to continue living as if they are earning their current paycheck.

While I am all for finding seed money, investing it and letting it grow, I do not believe in high yield investment programs. These programs may yield high returns now but they never last.

Always plan your investments carefully and only commit your money to legitimate companies with a good track record. If the returns are too good to be true, it probably is. Stick with a reliable company. The returns may be low, but slow and steady wins the race, you know?
