Saving On International Shipping

I stumbled upon this website called vPostAsia which is a thrid party online merchant that caters exclusively for HSBC credit card holders.

As most online retailers are based in the United States, shoppers this side of the world have to pay hefty shipping charges that could some out to three figure Ringgit. The previous time I shopped, the courier itself was MYR120, although it would be a lot less now that the Ringgit is stronger.

According to the
HSBC website, as I understand it, you shop at US merchants as usual but you will use the local American address given to you by vPost, hence you will only pay for local USA - USA shipping, which in most cases are offered free by merchants.

Once vPost USA receives your item, you will have to pay a shipping charge from vPost USA to your address in Malaysia. According to sources, this can save the shopping some shipping dollars. Unfortunately, this service is open to HSBC credit card holders only.
