eBay and other similar marketplaces are very competitive markets. It is literally a dog eat dog world out there. There is a lot of jealousy creeping in and many ongoing witch hunting activities to kill off the competition. I have heard of many people bitching about so and so and that they are trying to catch people for any violation of eBay's term of service so that they will be banned from the marketplace. The lesser the competition, the bigger the pie. But that also effectively means, the less members, the less money is changing hands as well.
Although there are many people who complain to me about this and that, I never encourage such sentiments. Firstly, I believe that we are all on eBay and also Lelong for a purpose and that is to trade. We all would love to make some pocket money but that does not mean that we have to climb on top of another to get to the top, right?
However, a few of my colleagues are left stumped when they felt the burnt of eBay while others did not. Are these marketplaces being biased? I told my colleagues that since they know that they are being witch hunted, then they have to be alert and never let themselves be caught.
They cited examples of other Sellers who are doing exactly the same thing and showed me their sales page. Well, if one Seller is doing it wrong, does it make it right for others to do the same thing as well? No, I don't think so. However, I also do not believe in reporting these people for allegedly violating eBay's terms of use because to me, it's no big deal. If these Sellers are out there to attempt to scam people, then it is another issue altogether.
Oh well, it's said that bitches are born every minute. Let's put it down to our bad luck to encounter them. We just have to put our head down and continue working hard because we cannot stop people's eyes from turning red.
