Silly Card Verification Process

I had to call up the Customer Service Center of my bank after I received my MasterCard. The funny thing was that I had to let them know that I really received the card by telling them my card number and also the security code that was given to me over the phone when I request for the card to be released.

Well, I waited for two weeks for the card to arrive but it did not and I had to call them up. I wonder why they did not let me know to call up. Do they think that I have ESP? If they had given clear instructions on how to get hold of the card, I would not even have waited a day, let alone two weeks.

Anyway, the card finally arrived so I called up and provided them with my card number and the security code.

And the funny thing was that they asked me the address that the card was shipped to. I found it funny because if the card was delivered to the wrong address, I would surely be able to see the address at the outside of the package.

And if I have stolen the card only, I would not even know what number to call to have it activated, let alone provide the security card. But then, I think one can't be too safe. They even have a Fraud Prevention Department!
