Spend More With Coupons

I read an article in a recent issue of Money Magazine. According to the article, shoppers who shop with coupons tend to spend 8% more than those who shop without coupons. I don't know about you but I know I do buy more when I know that I have saved some money from an earlier purchase. However, I don't think I spent up to 8% more.

Of course this is good news to merchants. If you have an online store, perhaps you would want to offer discount coupons to shoppers. Stores with discount coupons or free shipping tend to receive a higher percentage of shoppers who would spend in the store, because psychologically, they really think that they have saved money. Indeed they have but they just used whatever they saved on another item, which they did not intend to purchase in the first place. Thus, they unwittingly spent more money IN YOUR STORE.

If you offer coupons on your products, no longer do you market your store, but your coupons. Shoppers will flock to your store like bees to honey if your deal is attractive enough!
