My colleague pointed out to me that my online store lacks a form for visitors to sign up to my newsletter and be updated on new arrivals. It is true and I wonder why it slipped my attention all these while.
I have read that it is not difficult to maintain a Mailing List yet the advantages include an increased sales volume because these are the people who WANT to receive updates and they would be happy to drop by my store when they hear from me.
I was also told that mailing list business is big time business and there are companies which specialize in compiling mailing lists according to the interest of each individual. Companies which buy such mailing lists could lay down their needs and they will be provided with a list that is tailor made for them.
Now I know why some companies are so successful in their emailing campaign. They have a targeted database of people and these are the people who are genuine in their interest in a specific product!
