I am probably one of the few internet users who do not have the ad filter feature enabled. I wonder how many people are like me, people who like to view advertisements and possibly click on them. Well, that was how I managed to buy new second domain name for only MYR0.99.
Comparing both my blogs where this blog has banner ads at selected places for my online store while the other blog only has a text link to me store on the sidebar, records on my Sitemeter shows that there are more traffic from this blog (banner ad) than from She Rambles On (text link) despite She Rambles On enjoying more traffic that Ramblings of an etrader on an ordinary day.
This means that people still do click on banner ads although the ad filter of internet browsers are unable to filter out my banner ads, unlike Google AdSense or any other type of ad scripts.
My friends who run popular websites and blogs tell me that they are able to generate a decent income from the ads they serve on their sites that pay per click. While I do not mine banner ads, I do not like pop up or pop under ads or ad s that obstruct the main content of the page. I exceptionally hate those in your face kind of ads that force the browser to click on the "close" button to get rid of it but it has effectively gained a minute of our attention.
Banner ads can be amazing traffic drawers but it must be presented in a correct manner, me thinks.
