A couple of nights ago, I went to a photocopy shop for the first time. At first, I thought, "Whoa, such a small shop, but they give uniforms to the staff to wear." After a while, one of the employees came in, and his shirt (the uniform) was askew and unkempt.
He did not even bother to turn the collar properly or button up the shirt. The shirt looked unwashed as well. Actually, the other guys were also not spic and span but then they were not as bad as this guy.
Perhaps it was the time of the day, after 8pm when they are already tired and waiting to go home, though I heard that they open until 2 - 3 am.
Whatever the case, it is illogical to have your staff wear your uniform ad project such an image of the company. However small the company is, its image still has to be protected, right?
This reminds me of the Hypermarket in my town where the staff used to wear torn uniform. Well, this particular hypermarket even closed down and pulled out from the country.
