There is a hawker stall that I sometimes buy my supper from and they are really busy especially on weekend nights. So after going there for quite a few times, the lady "boss" told me that the next time I want to buy from them, I could just give them a call so that they can get my order ready and I need not wait. The queue can be horrendous, like I said.
You see, business is so competitive, she is afraid that I would go to another stall because I could not wait that long or something and she would lose my business, even if it is "only" MYR3 each time.
Not all stall holders would want people to place an order like that, especially if it is an order for food or other perishable goods because if I did not collect it due to unforeseen circumstances, then the order would have been wasted and it would incur a loss.
But she is going to take the risk for MYR3. And of course, IF I do place an order over the phone, I am going to make pretty damn sure I will be able to pick it up.
