I probably wrote this before some time back but for the past week, I noticed that on three occasions email that were supposed to come in, did not. I was expecting an email alert of a private message in a forum. I told my friend, the owner, that I did not get it and that she should check her settings to see if everything is in order.
Then on another occasion, I was expecting an email notification from the Support section of a website. Well, it never came; thank God I logged in to check. And the third time it happened was when I received a new private message on Facebook but I was not alerted of it by email, which I have set it to send me alerts when there are new messages.
It is so strange. I thought that the issue lies with Outlook Express which I use to retrieve my emails. As you know, Microsoft mentioned that they will be discontinuing the service of retrieving email via Outlook Express, though because of our outcry, they have decided to allow the service to continue.
Anyway, just to be sure, I logged into my Hotmail [Windows Live] account to see if somehow the messages landed in my Inbox but only failed to be transmitted to my Outlook Express. No such luck. So yeah, Hotmail really did eat my email.
