The other day, I wrote a post about eBay Malaysia starting to charge us quietly for some features that have been free all these while. And although they are offering free gallery picture and slashed prices for many features, if you are a bulk lister or relister, you have to be careful. These are just promotional rates which could expire at any time.
The other day, as usual, I relisted my items in bulk. You know, I have so many items I can't possible list them one by one, right? So, some of the items escaped me and were listed WITH features that I do not really need but since they WERE free (previously), I opted in.
Now, eBay has now placed a price tag on some of these features without an announcement so naturally I did not know which tem in particular is a paid feature now and I did not know which of my items are using them, which are not.
Although the fees incurred this time by using these now paid features are not much, I shudder to think how much eBay has netted just by this stroke of raising the price and keeping quiet about it. As you know, once a paid feature is selected, we have to honour the invoice, even though it is not yet ready and we are not required to pay it so soon.
Anyway, I guess it is true when I said that we should always go and check the forum first before listing items. Perhaps there would be a victim or other announcing on the board of sudden changes.
