If you are a Second Lifer, I am pretty sure you would have heard of, or even hung out at, Phat Cat's Jazz Club before. Well, I just came across their press release this morning and guess what? This virtual Jazz Club will be put on eBay for public auction from October 1st, 2008 and will close on October 10th, 2008.
So far, there has not been any further information on this auction and your guess is as good as mine as to what the opening bid will be. However, we just know that this will be the second eBay auction of virtual property; the first was the auction of the virtual city of Amsterdam in March, 2007.
Although I think that Phat Cat's Jazz Club is a highly recognizable name and would provide great marketing leverage, I am curious to see how much people are willing to pay for this. After all, it IS still just virtual property, and attached to Second Life too. Well, I guess we will know soon enough in two weeks' time.
