A couple of days ago, I had the chance to chat with my sister. Some of you may remember that she lives in the United States. Anyway, she told me that she has to issue some checks to pay her bills and I wondered aloud why she has to go through all the trouble when she could just pay all her bills online. I do that for my bills monthly and I am sure she too has internet banking.
My sister says that she does have internet banking but she is afraid that there would be a system glitch or something and that her bills would not get settled. Errrr I would think that hardly happens! But when a person does not have trust, she won’t do it. I did ask her to try once, to build her trust and confidence but she is reluctant to do so.
While websites, particularly banking and ecommerce sites, could create a Trusted Internet web environment for web users, they need to educate us on why it is safe to transmit our financial information online through their website.
I think that I should direct my sister to read Melih Abdulhayoglu's blog for better understanding on Trusted Internet.
