Nielsen Online has released the results of a study conducted to find out the top most visited online retailer and the most advertised consumer product online.
Amazon.com is the number one online retailer in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide as it attracted 57.7 million unique visitors in November, 2008, an increase of eight percent from the same period last year.
Meanwhile, eBay attracted 55.4 million unique visitors, a decline of six percent compared to the same period in 2007.
Coming out third is Wal-Mart, with 39.4 million unique visitors with an increase of a staggering thirteen percent compared to November, 2007.
Personally, I am not surprised with this outcome. This holiday season, I actually visited Amazon.com myself in the hopes of bagging better deals in my gift shopping. After all, I have US$75 worth of gift cards to spend. It's now December, though, and I am still spending time on Amazon.com trying to decide what to get. :-)
