No wonder I could not get to them fast enough. At $1 for so many luxurious items, I should have known that there would be people who see it fit to play dirty play using bots to scoop up these $1 deals.
While the rest of us are busy surfing eBay, these people just have to run their scripts to sniff out these deals even BEFORE they went live. How is that possible? I have no idea, except that many legitimate eBay treasure hunters have noticed that these $1 items are sold out even though the visitor tracker still registered 0 visitors. Hah!
While at first eBay executives said that they do not disallow the use of bots to win these items, they then changed their tune to say that they are doing everything possible to stop these bots so that it is a level playing field and everyone has a fair shot at the dollar items.
I don't know, this increasingly looks not like the fastest person will win, but the best computer programmer. What a bummer.
