In addition to the good news to sellers on eBay UK that I mentioned in my previous post as announced by eBay UK a couple of days ago, the good news for Buyers (bad news for Sellers) is that there will be mandatory free Postage and Packaging (P&P) in even more categories. Previously, this was only imposed on Sellers trading in media.
The extended categories and sub-categories are the following though this is not applicable to ALL the sub-categories so do read the terms carefully.
Clothes, Shoes & Accessories
Video Games
Mobile & Home Phones
Consumer Electronics
Computing
Photography
eBay UK says that they will be offering a discount on Final Value Fee (FVF) for the time being to help Sellers who need to absorb this cost and will from time to time offer incentives and other promotions. The key words here are "for the time being" and "from time to time".
Bear in mind that this mandatory free P&P is only the first domestic P&P option so all is not lost!
