Social Security Disability Insurance

My friend, Paul, told me that he knows of a worker who was injured while at work but the strange thing was that even though he had Social Security Disability Insurance, his application was denied. It was because of a technical error with the paperwork. Now, this guy has to make a disability appeal and it is causing him a lot of stress.

As a newly disabled person, it is difficult enough to cope with a new life and the fact that he could no longer work and earn a living is devastating. This is the time that he should be free from financial concerns but the fact that his SSDI is still not yet forthcoming is adding tension to an already stressful situation.

Paul had suggested that he leaves the appeal to a representative company that would only charge a small fee upon approval. At least this will reduce the runaround that he has to go through doing it himself. Hopefully, his appeal will be approved this time.

If you are talking about SSDI in the U.S. then your friend should know that between 60 and 80 percent of applicants are denied the first time. There is a book available through the SSI website, I can't remember the actual name of it, we just call it the "blue book" that is the manual used for approval. Have him get a copy of that and his work will be much easier.
