A friend wrote an email to me asking if I would like to buy some shares in a company that holds a gold mine prospect. Coming from a mining family, I am always interested in minerals and metals, I am changing the way we invest in these natural resources. I have never agreed with the way my father worked. He loved being involved in the entire process of mining from prospecting to production but me, I love to do things the short cut way.
It's because of this that I have turned down my friend's proposal though I didn't tell him that I am planning to buy gold coins. I have no idea yet how many I would be buying but of course, it's not going to be a one day purchase buy a collection built over time.
Having said this, I don't see investing in gold coins giving as much returns as a successful gold prospect would but then the risk is so much lower, if there is any at all!
