After forcing Australian eBay sellers to accept payment by PayPal only and making a U-turn only upon the scrutiny and intervention of the ACCC government regulatory agency, eBay Australia now stipulates that eBayers who intend to sell on eBay Australia will have to offer any one of these payment options: PayPal, Paymate or a merchant credit card account.
While this still isn't what most Australia eBay sellers want because of restrictions and limitations, I believe it is still better than only offering PayPal to their buyers. I believe that given a choice, many people who rather receive payment by other means, like Google Checkout or cheque but still, PayPal, though charges rather exorbitantly, is still one of the fastest payment mode, though it may not be as safe as it claims to be for both parties of buyers and sellers.
