I recently came across this term "recession depression" which describes spot on many of the feelings and emotions that we are going through during these few years when the economy is so sluggish.
A friend told me that not only has she seen a decline in her income, she works from home, by the way, her expenses have risen almost double. With a school-going child, she is one of the many parents affected by the increase expenditure on back-to-school purchases for her kid.
I have always looked for ways to save, even before the recent recession hit. One of the things I try to do is to look for "cheap" rates. For example, I may go to the cinema to catch a movie but I only go on Ladies' Night when tickets are cheaper for ladies. Of course, if a friend treats me then it's a different story!
Anyway, this is just one example of how to save. Life has to go on, of course. We still need some pampering, some entertainment and a social life but in many cases, we can cut down on our expenses by searching for the cheaper option.
