I read on the forum of Apple that quite a few people have experienced unauthorized charges on their iTunes account for music, applications and other downloads that they insist they never purchased. Apparently, these charges have been going on for the past few months already with some unlucky enough to be charged over a thousand dollars.
While scams like these really do happen especially when an online account with iTunes or PayPal is hacked, or the user ID and password are compromised in any way, then it's not surprising to be faced with surprised charges on their account.
However, there are cases where other family members have used these iTunes accounts to make purchases without the knowledge or permission of the account owner. When such owners receive an invoice, they are shocked and then make a charge back because they thought that their account had been hacked! LOL
