Charged RM50 For Credit Card Not Received

I read about a woman who lodged a complaint that she was charged by EON Bank for the RM50 government tax on principal credit cards even though she did not receive the credit card that she has applied for a month ago. For new credit cards, the RM50 has to be paid in the first month while those old credit cards issued before this new ruling will be charged on the anniversary month.

EON Bank has already cancelled her credit card as requested and also wrote off the RM50. Still, I think that it;s a big blunder and besides, a lot of banks and credit card issuers are now absorbing the government tax on credit cards as long as the card holders meet a certain low requirement; for example, a certain number of swipes a year or a low total amount of charges a year.
