I was traveling just last week and we went to a city in the East Coast that is notorious with evening rain. The rain was so hard, we were all drenched despite jackets and umbrella. 

A travel buddy told me that his North Face jacket protected him well and he was dry. I now think I should get the best women's north face jacket that's waterproof as I have a lot more traveling to do in the coming months. 

How much do you think I should invest in a good jacket? A friend told me not to be stingy when it comes to quality clothing.
