Many years ago, when I was first offered a credit card by my bank, I asked a friend if I should accept it. This friend is a risk manager for a bank, and seemed like the most appropriate person to ask.
The advice he gave me was if I can manage to pay off my credit card in full every month, take it. If not, cut it up.
Although this advice seems so logical, many people had not been able to follow through. This is in fact, the ONLY way one should use a credit card. I am glad that from the beginning, I have been following this advice, and had done well in managing my credit cards thus far.
