The Italian government, struggling to recover from a 2-year-long recession, has made the move to put luxury cars on auction. These vehicles, used by various government agencies, have brought in €371,400 thus far.
The initial 52 cars sold included BMWs and Audis, netting an average price of €7,142. By May 16, a total of 151 cars will be auctioned off that would include armoured Maseratis.
This move to cut outrageous spending by ministries has received positive reaction for the general Italian public.
