Opting For Online Shopping

Although the tradition of shoppers to queuing up in the pitch black and cold morning after Thanksgiving outside stores to grab doorbusters, freebies and special deals that are loss leaders for many stores just to attract shoppers, this year has seen an increase in online shoppers, as much as 30% increment compared to last year on the same day, so much so that website of online merchants could hardly accommodate the surge in traffic.

Many people still like to shop conventionally at brick and mortar stores and truly, nothing beats the shopping experience of a Black Friday morning. And there's no denying that shoppers still like to touch and feel something before they buy, checking out the quality, size and expiry date, for instance.

But for many web savvy people who are now very comfortable with disclosing their financial information over secured servers, online shopping allows them to shop in the comfort of home without having to get into a fight with other shoppers. And often times, they are able to find what they want online at a comparable, or even cheaper price than buying from a local store. On top of that, online merchants sweeten the deal with free shipping, and sometimes freebies too.

Popular online stores should anticipate an even larger number of online shoppers next year as more and more people get onto the bandwagon of shopping online. They have to make sure that their servers could handle the traffic or it would create a poor shopping experience for the shopper. And then, the first time a person shops there could also be her last.
