Serena Williams, who was fined a total of US$92,000 last year for her outburst at a lineswoman at the US Open, will launch an online auction on eBay which will run for a total of 92 days.
Serena hopes that auctioning of her memorabilia, clothing and accessories will raise US$92,000. Proceeds from this series of auction will go towards various charities in the United States, Africa as well as to victims of the recent earthquake in Haiti.Serena said that she wants to turn something negative into positive and had wanted to donate part of her fine to charity but that suggestion was rejected by the International Tennis Federation so she decided to run her own charity auction online.
Let's hope that she would be able to achieve her target with this auction!
