Claiming The Cost of Medication

My friend, who has a comprehensive medical insurance plan, told me that his insurance agent told him that his policy will only cover three months of medication now that he is discharged from hospital. My friend says that if that is the case, he will be transferring to a public hospital instead of private. That way, he would be getting his prescription filled almost for free and even if some have to be bought at private pharmacies, it wouldn't be as expensive.

If my friend, as a Medicare beneficiary, qualifies for Medicare part D plan, he wouldn't have such a problem and would get to enjoy subsidized prescription drugs. Unfortunately, my friend isn't enrolled in Medicare's plan. Well, insurance is like this. You will only miss it if you don't have it!
