A List of Fraudsters

As a continuation on Lelong being proactive in fraud prevention, where eBay forbids the mention of frauster's (or scammers or connies if you like) eBay ID, let alone their name or bank account number, Lelong Support has been updating its thread on fraudsters with information on Seller ID, Name as in IC, bank account number and the bank or branch, if it's known.

I think this is a pretty good move. Anyone can check their Seller's account information against this list, to see if it's a blacklisted account or not. And if a buyer is not comfortable with a Seller or smells something fishy, of course he/she can file a report with the administrators and get it investigated.

This service is available in Lelong and eBay. While eBay will investigate and not let the Buyer know the results, Lelong will let the Buyer in on the findings.

Of course there is no right or wrong way of doing things. There are pros and cons in both ways but that's another post for another day.

And by the way, if you wish to check the list of fraudsters, click
HERE. Even if you have no intention of making purchases in Lelong, you can check the list if you are buying something expensive on eBay Malaysia, as most of these fraudsters ply their trade in both auction sites, and some forums too.
