I recently had the opportunity to review the list, released almost two weeks ago, of most popular cell phones for 2006 as sold by Wirefly.com, the leader in online comparison shopping for mobile phones and major wireless phone plans.
I am definitely not surprise to find the MotoRAZR by Motorola occupy the top three spots, with Cingular Wireless being the top service provider, followed by T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless.
In Wirefly's prediction of five biggest cell phone trends of 2005, RAZR was predicted to be one of the most popular phones in 2006, and they were on the spot!
Occupying the forth spot is Cingular Sony Ericsson z520a/z525a which is a video phone. Video phones are getting increasingly popular and many of my friends have upgraded from blogging to videoblogging (Vblogging), thanks to the ease of capturing fairly high quality videos from the cell phone.
Motorola's various models occupy fifth to ninth spots. I am again not surprised that Motorola is the preferred brand in America. It is an American brand, after all, and Americans are rather loyal to home brands. Besides, my friends who are die-hard fans of Motorola has told me that this is the phone with the best reception and clarity.
The list of most popular mobile phones sold by Wirefly.com in 2006 is wrapped up by Samsung T309.
I predict that 2007 will continue to see the popularity of the RAZR.
