A couple of days ago, I wrote that Public Bank's Visa Electron has gone offline and that people have not been able to pay for their purchases online.
Well, I have got news that it is actually not a Public Bank problem but it's VISA problem. The strange thing that how come Public Bank does not know and they have been keeping silent about it and not answering customers' enquiries in a timely manner?
One would think that if Public Bank is offering a service and if its vendor or provider is not able to meet the demand due to technical problems or whatever glitches, Public Bank would have known about it and given the customers a good explanation and to up this, give people an alternative as a temporary measure.
Public Bank is a large public listed corporation and I expect them to deal with problems like this in a better, acceptable way. I am sure that VISA or any other credit card provider may have faced a similar system crash before, or expected to face one so they should have prepared a back door to serve their millions of customers.
At this point of writing, I am uncertain if the system is back up, but I do know that I am not going to attempt to pay for anything online with my PB Visa Electron.
