I came across this marketing law that says a product needs seven exposures before people are willing to make a transaction with you. That's why advertisers continue to expose us to their product or service through newspapers, radio, internet, flyers and any other form of marketing.
I don't know how true this is. There are times when I list my products on eBay or other marketplaces and get a sale in the first round. There are some products that I faithfully list time and again before it managed to be sold. And there are some casualties that never get sold and make me wonder if I should pull them out from the market.
While seven, the magic number, is the MINIMUM number of exposures to result in a positive reaction, I feel some products, while I would not have termed failures, take a longer time to rub off onto people. Like the saying goes, "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." I feel that sometimes, I am running on the Law of Seventy. Thank God it doesn't cost me much money, only a little time.
Remember, the Law of Seven never mentioned the maximum exposure till the point of overkill, so NEVER GIVE UP!
