Much has been debated on about own hosted blogs vs. one that is on a free host, Blogger being the biggest player. Well, I have a blog with Blogger and I have one that is hosted privately. I personally feel that Blogger posts are indexed very fast on Google. However, we have many options to customize our own hosted blogs, one of them is setting it to Ping various services as soon as a post is published. We cannot do that with Blogger as far as I know so we will have to do it manually.
Also, I have had trouble with Technorati picking up my new posts on my Blogger blog as opposed to the almost instant indexing on Technorati for my own hosted blog, but then this could be a Technorati internal issue.
Although my Blogger blog is older and more established with over a thousand posts, it is strange that when someone searches for "cyberpartygal", a link to my own hosted blog will appear at the top, even though both are enjoying a Page Rank of three only. Perhaps this is because there are more backlinks to my own hosted blog? *shrug* In any case, I am not going to sweat over it!
