People who know me know that I am a fan of portability. Everything I buy has to be small, foldable, portable, mini or travel-size. I guess it is because I travel so much, I hate the extra weight.
Just now, I was delighted when told of these folding bikes by DownTube. I have always wanted to buy one of these after watching a documentary on how a guy travelled the world on a bike, a folding bike, and how convenient it was and compact that he could fit the bike wherever. He could carry it easily because it was small when folded and light too. And when he hitch-hiked, he could easily tuck his bike into the trunk of cars of good Samaritans who gave him a ride.

I showed a picture of this folding bike to a friend of mine who rode his racer from our hometown in Malaysia to the UK back in the 1980s and he said that if only he had such a bike during his excursion, it would have been a more pleasant experience.
I am glad to note that we could purchase a decent folding bike by DownTube for under $300, now that they are on sale. These bikes are really worth having especially if you are an outdoor person.
