Goodbye Summer, Hello Autumn

Summer, in the Northern Hemisphere, will be officially over come 1st September. Although the weather is fickle, they have a fixed time frame for the season and it ends, officially, on Labor Day.

Retailers are still trying their best to clear their summer stocks, so if you are looking for clothes, you may want to wait for their clearance sale. Autumn comes and there will be new clothes, new fashion. And new prices too!

Retail is very challenging and the store that could be a step ahead would have a winner. I have a male friend who retails ladies fashion, owning three brick-n-mortar stores in Kuala Lumpur and Ipoh, and he tells me that he needs to be on his toes all the time because once his stocks get out of fashion, he would have to sell them cheaper and the premium would be gone.

However, he told me that a lot of ladies are very vain. They just MUST have new clothes. Even with the high rental in high end shopping malls, especially in Kuala Lumpur, he could still survive. He asked me to join him but ah… the risk is too high. I would rather stick to online trading where overhead cost is way lower.
