Medical Care In The United States

My sister has been suffering from the flu recently. While this is a small matter over here in Malaysia and many of us do not even need to see a doctor, my sister says it's not easy for her to self-medicate. Medical care is very expensive in the United States but she still consults a doctor in case it's an Influenza Infection.

My sister told me that medical care is expensive, even though she is partially insured, because medicine is very advanced there. Most doctors carry PDAs because they could just get connected to the web to check for drug references, or new drugs and diseases, prescription, drug reactions and dosage.

I think that easy access to such information by qualified medical professionals allows them to double confirm their diagnosis and treatment and it is to the benefit of patients. I wish that doctors here are more aware of the information that are made available on the internet for them and for free too!
