Cookie Stuffing

If you are into affiliate marketing, I am sure you would have explored the option of eBay. I am sure you also know that eBay is very particular about their affiliates and do not accept affiliates from a slew of countries that are deemed to be of high risk. Unfortunately, Malaysia is one of these countries.

Well, even so, although Malaysians are not allowed to participate in eBay's Affiliate Network, I do still have friends in Malaysia who managed to join the program, under another person's name. Of course, this isn't for me.

Anyway, if you are involved in any online affiliate programme at all, I am sure you appreciate how difficult it is to clinch a sale. However, this would not be the case for people who are cooking stuffing. This basically means that they run scripts that would drop tracking cookies on unsuspecting computers and when these people make a purchase on eBay, eBay records will show that they have been referred by this cookie dropper when they have not. Isn't it easy money to claim referral credit where it is not due?
