Changes on eBay Malaysia

Over the past couple of months, there have been subtle changes on eBay Malaysia that the occasional visitor would not notice. However, as a Seller on eBay Malaysia, I could see the direction that they are moving towards, and that is to start charging fees for even more features, which would soon, I believe, include listing fee and Final Value Fee.

Trust me, this day wouldn't be long in coming, seeing how eBay.com has taken a beating and how many of their Sellers are only selling minimal on eBay and already have a foot on other online auction marketplaces.

Now, I have been thinking recently, with all these changes and the compulsory fees soon, if I would or even could continue to trade on eBay Malaysia. My items are of low value and my profit margin in thin. With the fees imposed, I am not sure I would be willing to share whatever profit I have with eBay. What do you think?

I been selling my old books on ebay for the past few years. Recently I notice that I can't relist and can post new books to sell unless I go through a registration again (which involve them charging fees). I did not profit at all (most of my books are a steal considering the prices that I first bought them). Guess my old books now have to sit in my bursting book selves a little longer.

I also had difficulty relisting my items. I could not list my items in bulk and was shown an error message. When I tried listing them one by one, I was required to place a credit card on file. I tried doing it with my debit card as I don't want to risk my credit card, and I was given an error message saying that my card number is not valid.

I left it for a few days and when I tried again, I successfully placed my debit card on file. Thereafter, I had no problems relisting my items. Although there is still no charge yet now, they would do so soon enough, I believe.

As for your problem with re-registering, perhaps you should write in to eBay Customer Support. Meanwhile, keep trying. I find their system quite buggy.

By the way, I have been successful in disposing off old novels on Lelong. Perhaps you should try selling there too.
